Here in Austin the ZDX has mostly sold-out. I was at the dealership yesterday to get a portable charger and they said they (and the other cross-town dealer) sold a ton in December. Seems everyone knows the $7,500 tax credit is likely to be yanked soon, so people were getting the car now. Nice to see, but first-quarter 2025 sales will probably revert back to the normal slow pace of sales for this car. :(

That's awesome to hear that it's selling well in Austin! Makes sense people are jumping on it while they can still get that $7,500 tax credit. It's good to see it's doing well, it's a pretty cool car. Hopefully, Acura keeps the deals coming so it doesn't slow down after the tax credit goes away.

Thanks for the info!

Why do you say that? I like to believe the tax credit wasn't the most decisional buying factor. 😅

Well the dealer seems to think so. The threat of the cost going up $7,500 would certainly entice fence sitters to got and buy, and it did. Now the question is what happens next? As much as I love the car (and hate the lack of official SuperCharger access) we have to admit it is not selling in large volumes. :( And I wish that wasn't true.

It’s interesting how tax credits drive such a rush..Did the dealership mention if pre-orders for other models also spiked due to the looming change?

Why would pre-orders on other models spike? The tax credit applies only to the ZDX.
True, the tax credit only applies to the ZDX. I was curious if the change sparked more interest in EVs overall, not just the ZDX.

Unsure if it sparked interest in the other EVs, but would expect it to. I know a friend started looking for his second EV last month specifically because of this issue, but he did not buy anything.
