I'm nearing 90,000 miles and haven't replaced the timing belt yet. I'm hesitant because my old Legend Coupe's belt lasted well over 100,000 miles. But I'm wondering if I'm taking a risk with the ZDX. Also, I'm having major problems with the Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS). Despite multiple trips to the dealer, it's still not working properly. They claim they fixed it by simply leaving the ACC light on, but that's ridiculous!

To make matters worse, the dealership tried to pressure me into an expensive $2500 oil pump seal repair, even though there's no significant leak. They even hid this information from my service records and discouraged me from getting a second opinion.

Has anyone else experienced issues with the CMBS system on their ZDX?

You're definitely taking a risk with the timing belt, 90K is pushing it. The CMBS issue sounds frustrating, and that dealer behavior is shady. Maybe try another shop for advice?

ZDX engines can last a while, but they're interference engines, which means if they fail, it could be really bad. If you're keeping the car for a while, it's better to replace the timing belt early to avoid a big repair bill later. That $2,500 oil pump seal repair sounds sketchy, especially if they're not even documenting it. If you don't see any leaks, get a second opinion. Don't let them rip you off!

Yeah, timing belts can be a gamble at that mileage, but it's better to be safe than sorry. I’d just replace it since it’s not cheap if it fails. As for the CMBS, that’s a hassle. Weird they didn’t fix it properly and then tried to push you into a pricey repair. Definitely get a second opinion, and if the dealer’s not helpful, consider reaching out to Acura corporate.

Any updates? Did you get your timing belt replaced and how much did it cost you?
