What can be done about the 'Charge Port Cover Open' error?

I keep getting the "Charge Port Cover Open" error, even though it’s closed. The pin or sensor seems faulty. I tried pushing the pin in before closing it, which worked temporarily, but no longer. Some forums suggest lube, but it's a ridiculous fix. Anyone else have this issue?

Did you get a chance to take a quick peek at the charge port? Could be some dirt or gunk messing with the sensor.
