In comparison to the left side of my car, I've noticed that the amber blind spot monitoring light on the right side is beginning to fade. I want to know how hard it is to change the lightbulb.

Has anyone previously attempted this? Is it a simple do-it-yourself task, or does it call for specialized equipment or expertise? I would be very grateful for any pointers or recommendations.

I had a similar issue with the blind spot monitoring light on my car, it started dimming on one side over time. Replacing it can vary depending on the car model, but here’s how it went for me:

First, I checked the owner’s manual to confirm if the light is integrated into the mirror assembly or if it’s a separate bulb. In my case, it was part of the mirror assembly, so I had to carefully remove the mirror glass to access it. It required a trim tool to avoid cracking the glass and steady hands to handle the wiring.

The actual replacement wasn’t overly complex, but reassembling everything took patience to ensure the clips aligned properly. If your car has heated mirrors or advanced sensors, you might need to unplug a few connectors, which can be a bit fiddly.

If you’re not comfortable with minor disassembly or handling fragile components, it might be worth asking a local mechanic or dealership. But if you're handy with tools, it’s a doable DIY project...Let me know how it goes.

@Pado I'm comfortable with minor disassembly but I think I'll also go back to the manual to make sure. Thank for the tips man!
