Good evening! I heard that GM plans to remove Apple CarPlay from future EVs, starting with the 2024 Chevrolet Blazer, and I am a bit concerned about how that might affect my choice of a new car.
Does anyone know if the Acura ZDX will come with Google’s built-in infotainment system? Thanks!

Hey! Yeah, the ZDX does share the GM platform, but the software and most of the electronics are all Acura. Plus, Acura is moving toward full Google integration while still keeping Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, so no worries there!

Interesting. I wonder if this is why we don't have SuperCharger access yet? Or possibly why we don't have autocharge+ capability with EVConnect (like we have with EVgo)?

I haven’t gotten my ZDX yet, so I’m not too familiar with the Superchargers firsthand. But from what I’ve heard, you need to register it as a Cadillac in the Tesla app to charge. There’s a thread about this on the forum with more details. As for AutoCharge+, I’ll dig into it and share any info I find!

I should clarify -- "official SuperCharger access". I have charged 4 times now by calling myself a Lyric in the Tesla app. Last time was Jan 16. However, this "loophole" might be closing. It was closed for Kia, for example, who could charge if they called themselves a Hyundai. Seems Tesla did not like that. Maybe there are not enough ZDX's to care, dunno. But I should try again and see if it still works.

As per autocharge+ what is annoying about that is both EVgo and EVConnect are strongly associated with GM. And GM Utlitum products can automatically plug and charge on both networks. However, Honda/Acura can only on EVgo. It baffles the mind why, or how that is even possible. And don't get me started that we don't support Plug&Charge, which Electrify America uses. (and don't get me started as to why there are TWO standards on how to do this).

I love everything about the ZDX. But charging is a fracking mess if you are on the road. How the industry let it get to this point is sad. None of this was rocket science to solve.

Awesome, thanks for sharing your experience! Definitely helpful as we all navigate this transition and figure things out. Once I start charging, I’ll share any tips and updates as well!
