Curious About the New ZDX Range

I’m pretty new to the EV world and just found out the official EPA numbers for the Acura ZDX. Seems like the RWD version is rated for 313 miles at 90 MPGe, and the AWD gets around 304 miles with 87 MPGe. Not bad, right?

What’s interesting is how the range varies between RWD and AWD – I guess that’s normal, but with the RWD being a bit more efficient, I wonder if it’ll make much of a difference in everyday use. Both models have an estimated fuel cost of $850/year, so the price difference might not be too significant.

I’ve also heard the Cadillac Lyriq, which is similar, has slightly different range numbers, but it’s fascinating that they’re both built on GM’s Ultium platform. Curious if anyone else has insights on this or if anyone’s leaning toward one over the other. For those of you with experience in EVs, would the extra power and range on the RWD be worth it, or would AWD be better all-around?

The RWD vs. AWD range difference is pretty common across EVs. RWD is often more efficient since there’s one less motor, but the AWD is a great choice if you’re in an area with winter weather or rough roads. That said, 313 miles for RWD and 304 for AWD are both solid ranges. If the yearly cost is nearly the same, it might come down to whether you prioritize extra range or all-wheel stability. For daily use, I think AWD could be the safer pick, but the RWD does offer a bit more of a “pure” driving experience.

The difference is marginal especially with air conditioning on driving uphill, don't get stuck in snow, I'm in West Virginia and they don't get any one motor ZDX to sell

The RWD’s efficiency is appealing, but the AWD could offer better handling in various weather. It depends on your needs

I live in West Virginia and the Acura dealership does not have anything but all wheel drive ZDX. All wheel drive is mandatory in West Virginia, do you understand why??? Winter weather
