After eight weeks of waiting for the water pump to be fixed, I'm beginning to change my mind about getting some cosmetic bodywork done on my car. Just getting a simple mechanical part appears to be getting increasingly difficult these days.

Anyone else with the same experience? When there are more urgent mechanical problems, is it worthwhile to spend money on cosmetic repairs? Should I just concentrate on maintaining the car's dependability for the time being?

I can relate to the frustration of delays. If the mechanical issues are more pressing, it’s usually best to prioritize reliability over cosmetic repairs. You can focus on keeping the car running smoothly, and you can always address aesthetics later.

Your water pump should have been fixed quickly. Some parts are shared across many Honda and Acura models, so it should be more readily available.
