Battery pre-conditioning for charging – is it possible to trigger manually?

I am aware that when I use built-in navigation to get to a particular charger, the car automatically preconditions the battery. However, what happens if I am going to a charger without navigation? Is it possible to turn on the pre-conditioning by hand? and what is the impact of pre-conditioning on charge rates?

A gear icon can be found in the upper right corner. After selecting "Prepare for fast charging" or a similar message, click the "Start" button to get started. Try it and let us know if that works.
