Hello!
Do brake assist and leveling system service alerts require repairs or software updates? I just ran into this and I want to know if this is a dealership job. Thank you!

I got slapped with one of those "service leveling system" warnings recently, so I took my car over to the dealer. They did their thing, claimed they fixed it, and reset everything. But, surprise, surprise, after a week or two, that same warning pops up again.
Looks like it's back to the dealer for round two to sort this mess out! Super annoying!

Yes! I went to the dealership. I don't know exactly what they have done, but what is certain is that my car is ok now.
Glad to hear you got the problem fixed. Did you get a zero cost invoice? It should show if there were any parts replaced. I'm waiting for a back-ordered part and was told it was a somewhat common problem. My leveling system issue may be better but no parts replaced, maybe just a'nother' reset of some sort. Maybe a change of settings??

Hello All from Toronto Canada,
Purchased my ZDX in December 2024
Here is my story
  1. December 14 - Picked up the Brand new ZDX Type S
  2. “Service Brake Assist” message which disabled the regenerative Braking system (First occurred January 7- I contact the Dealership to schedule the appointment for January 16 at 7:30 am. to resolve this issue and get my Winter tire and rims installed.
  3. Two days after the service Brake assist message was resolved it returned on my ZDX.
  4. Friday January 24 – Dropped off my ZDX and was given a Loaner Demo ZDX to use while my ZDX gets repaired.
  5. Tuesday January 28 – The Loaner ZDX reports the same “Service Brake Assist” message after being disconnected from Charging. I return the Demo ZDX to the Dealership and was given a 2025 RDX to use until the repairs have been completed.

Hi! And welcome to the forum.
Congrats on your car.
Did it have any codes or something? I assume it was a software problem. Am I right?
At least they gave you a replacement car.

It was a software problem.
Thanks for the update. I have an appointment for repair tomorrow but with a snow storm predicted I'm not sure that I'll keep it. I haven't seen the error for nearly two weeks now. Since a car wash ;-) I had seen mention of a loose wire/connection as a possible cause. I hope the snow isn't too bad over night. I'd like to have some confidence in a good fix.

Have you observed any differences in how the vehicle performs or handles since the alerts began? Did the alerts pop up out of nowhere, or was there something specific that triggered them, like hitting a pothole or another incident?
